Sigma Conso Asia – MIA Annual Dinner 2015 & Budget Seminar

With the opening of our new office in Malaysia (see press release here), Sigma Conso Asia wants to strengthen its presence on the local market in order to better serve local customers. Therefore, the company participated to the annual dinner of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) is a statutory body established to regulate and develop the accountancy profession in Malaysia. MIA’s responsibilities include education and quality assurance as well as enforcement which are carried out to ensure that the credibility of the profession is maintained and that public interest is continuously upheld. On November 6, 2015, the institute held its annual dinner at the Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel. Sigma Conso Asia was invited to sponsor the dinner and was recognized as one of the Gold Sponsors. The dinner was attended by 350 guests from approximately 50 corporations.

As part of the sponsorship programme, Sigma Conso Asia was not only entitled to exhibit during dinner reception, but also during the budget seminar. This is a nationwide event jointly organized by MIA and MATA (Malaysian Association of Tax Accountants) and is aimed to:

  • identify the key highlights of Budget 2016, its impact on your business, and the ensuing opportunities
  • attain insights into GST updates and the implications for managing your business tax affairs optimally
  • explore the latest developments in Malaysian tax law, emerging trends and best practices
  • for the purposes of application and renewal of the tax agent license, as well as the renewal of the GST tax agent license

The budget seminar was held on November 19 at the Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel and was attended by about 210 participants. The next exhibition will be held at Connexion@Nexus, Kuala Lumpur, on 1 Dec 2015.
